I recevied my PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Hohenheim, Germany, in the group of Gerry Rubin in 2000. After I left my academic affiliation I co-founded one of the pioneering bioinformatics companies Neomorphic Inc. in 1996. After this company was sold to Affymetrix, I joined a Euro-american biotechnology company ValiGen in Paris, France. Returning to California in 2002, I founded a personalized medicine company Omicia Inc. located in Emeryville, CA.
